Tunisian crochet is one of the least-known yarn crafts but is a fun skill to have in your fiber arts toolkit. Somewhat of a cross between knitting and crocheting, it uses a long crochet hook that allows you to work with multiple live loops at once. Though the technique feels like crochet, many stitches mimic knitting, offering plenty of design freedom. In this class, artist, author, and professor Lisa Solomon teaches the foundations of Tunisian crochet through four essential stitches. You'll create 16 unique stitch-pattern swatches as you build confidence with the technique. The resulting fabric is dense and cozy, making it ideal for blankets, pillows, and warm garments.

Keep your toes toasty with this easy-to-knit weekend project! The delectably simple slipper pattern was designed by Creativebug’s resident knitter, Faith Hale, and requires knitting just one rectangular piece.
If you're new to knitting, there's no better place to start than a garter stitch hat project. Worked as a flat piece in knit stitch (no purls required!) and seamed up at the end, this color-blocked hat is gender-neutral and anything but boring. You'll learn how to make a gauge swatch, cast on and bind off, change colors and seam – all in one little hat! Creativebug’s resident knitter, Faith Hale, designed this technique-packed cap to be worked on straight needles, making it easy for the beginner knitter. Keep the look of this hat graphic with two colors, or keep it simple with one bold solid. Either way, it looks great on both men and women, and is a quick-to-knit handmade gift.

In this easy-to-follow class, master knitter Edie Eckman provides you with all the skills you need to start double knitting. Since you are literally knitting both sides of fabric at the same time, this fun technique keeps you on your toes. Double knit fabric is reversible and cushy, with a design that looks different on each side. Edie demonstrates the basics to get you started, including options for holding the needles for both continental and English style knitters. She also shows you how to follow charts, building up reversible patterns in double-faced Stockinette stitch. Once you’ve got the hang of it, use the ideas presented here to make cute coasters, cowls, or a double-knit scarf (pattern and charts included in PDF).
